I just saw on the news how Toronto spent $200 MILLION on security to fight these Violence-fueled Leftist Bozos!

And for what? A buncha "leaders" in suits shaking each others hands and phony-smiling for the media? At least they agree on cutting the "Steroid-like" taxing and spending these governments are addicted to, lately.

From news reports Ive seen, only Obummer thinks thats a good idea. Everybody else "gets it"!

I will be in the Netherlands for 1 month and need a cell phone to call the US (personal use). It is also likely that the US will need to call me (business conference calls). Is it cheaper to get a phone in Europe or get something from the US with a US number (ie: GoPhone)? I imagine my company would get charged for international calling if I got the phone there… would they be charged if I got a US number?
Is it possible to use Skype for the conference calls and then get a cellphone for personal use?
I currently have verizon, so I think buying an unlockable phone with a sim card is out of the question… or is it?

What I do when I travel to europe is just bring an unlocked phone from America, and then put in a sim card of theirs. It is a lot cheaper than using let’s say your verizon provider. Try ebay or something, buy a CHEAP unlocked phone, it will serve it’s purpose, and purchase a sim card there, since they are usually pre paid, not postpaid like here in America, you won’t have any problems with that. They would probably be charged even if you had a United States number because you’d be roaming. You should use skype for conference calls, i think you can pay them and use skype like a regular phone. But don’t take an american phone number, it will rip you off.

My wife is self employed (piano teacher). She heard that time spent for lessons preparation (and that practically is about 50% of working time) can be converted in “business expenses” and deducted. She only might say that it is called “CONFERENCE HOURS”… Our CPA does not know what it is. If someone could clear that subject and refer to appropriate documents?

Sorry, that’s not the case. Besides, how would you assign a value (cost) to the time? If you’re going to say that all hours worked have a value, then you would have to report the income for her prep hours, then deduct the same amount as ‘conference hours’ or whatever and it’d be a wash.
